About

Welcome to SticksAndStonesBilliards.com!

Sticks and Stones operates under the assumption that a simple, honest approach to the game will improve your play, and will improve you as a person.  The advice you’ll find here is largely applicable to all levels of play — my hope is that every player can find value in the information presented.

What Is the Sticks and Stones Philosophy?

This game is not easy. But it is very, very, simple.

Think of how hard it could be — imagine yourself in the woods. You find a rock, and you see a four inch wide hole in the ground about eight feet in front of you. Try to roll your rock in the hole. A roll that should be perfect will undoubtedly bounce off course. The ground is uneven and the rock is too.

Pool is so much more predictable!

The balls are so round that they want to fall in the pockets. The tables are smooth and flat, consistent and predictable.

The game is not as simple as sticks and stones – it’s far simpler. When you step up to the table: just push the rock in the hole!
